Why we build Websites with Craft

Craft CMS is a modern content management system and attaches great importance to the user experience of the authors. Craft CMS is a proprietary software from Pixel & Tonic. Pixel & Tonic started as a developer team for the CMS ExpressionEngine.

ExpressionEngine is a CMS for more complex websites that was used in our previous web projects. ExpressionEngine is mainly used in the USA and is used by big brands like Nike, Disney, Pizza Hut or Starbucks.

The developers of the increasingly popular Craft CMS have operated well-known plugins for ExpressionEngine and developed their own CMS in parallel. The development has taken into account the strengths and weaknesses of ExpressionEngine and since its release in 2013 and thanks to its high quality, good usability and a stringent development approach, many leading agencies (including us) have switched to Craft CMS.

Unlike WordPress, Craft CMS is not aimed directly at the end user, but is intended as a tool for agencies and developers. The big advantage of Craft is that the system does not set any guidelines for the website and can be adapted by a developer exactly to the needs of the respective web presence.

If you are looking for a truly modern PHP-based CMS that focuses consistently on usability for authors, then Craft is a very good choice. Craft can be used for simple and medium complex sites, in combination with Craft-Commerce Craft is of course also very suitable for shops and commerce.

Craft CMS is used by several medium-sized companies, including Kunsthalle Stavanger, Mixmag, Associated Press and Samuelsohn.
